Train with Professional Broadway Stars This Summer in Johnson City

Three immersive days of professional musical theatre training with Broadway performers from Wicked, Newsies, and Tarzan.

Kara Lindsay
Current Broadway powerhouse, Kara Lindsay, originated the role of Katherine Plumber in Disney’s Tony Award-winning Newsies and starred as Glinda in Wicked on Broadway. From Broadway stages to national tours, Kara brings elite-level professional training straight to Built for Broadway.

Kevin Massey
Broadway veteran Kevin Massey has starred in Tarzan, Memphis, and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder on Broadway and national tours across the country. His outstanding stage experience and professional coaching give students direct access to real Broadway-level training.

Steve Maurice Jones
Broadway actor, director, and educator Steve Maurice Jones brings world-class theatrical training to Built for Broadway. A current faculty leader at the renowned Stella Adler Studio of Acting and ETSU’s 2026 Basler Chair of Excellence, Jones has appeared on Broadway in the Lifespan of a Fact, Saint Joan, Julius Caesar, and the Cherry Orchard. Known for his dynamic teaching style and powerful stage presence, he is passionate about helping young performers unlock confidence, authenticity, and professional-level storytelling skills.

What Students Will Experience

This is a workshop-based intensive designed to simulate real Broadway training.

Across the three days, students will experience:
  • Daily masterclass observation (including Wednesday kickoff)
  • Large group vocal + ensemble work
  • Dance, choreography, and stage movement
  • Acting + character work
  • Small-group coaching + breakouts
  • Q&A sessions with Broadway clinicians

This workshop is a capped experience (max 100 students) to preserve quality, energy, and individualized attention.

Based on final enrollment, we may release additional small-group coaching or masterclass opportunities.
